Abstract
This article seeks to describe the origin of cattle ranches and analyze their economic structure in the period between 1573 and 1700. The area studied includes two regions (hills and plains), occupied at an early stage in the former jurisdiction of the city of Córdoba, which belonged to the Government of Tucumán and the Viceroyalty of Peru. This contrastive study which observes the constants and variants of the two regions analyzed- not only describes the economic changes that occurred in the area as a result of the Spanish conquest and colonization of the area, but also attempts to provide general guidelines on the autochthonous indigenous population's integration into the colonial economic structure of the jurisdiction in Córdoba.Aquellos autores/as que tengan publicaciones con esta revista, aceptan los términos siguientes:
