Abstract
The debate on the position of the history of the literature of authors exiled in 1939 concerns both Spain and México. In the Spanish context, there is still debate on whether these authors should be considered an isolated, delimited,parallel group or whether the canon should be reformulated. In the Mexican context, they have been incorporated into certain reference works and anthologies but their position in literary history has yet to be determined. Bytracking and describing the various historiographic criteria (in compilations, manuals and studies) that define the elaboration of the stories in literature and the construction of the cultural setting, this study reveals the awkwardposition of the Spanish exile of 1939 within Mexican literature.
